The topics to be covered include but are not
limited to:
International Review of Physics (IREPHY) August 24th, 2010 - All the scientific community of the world grieves for the death of the Italian physicist Nicola Cabibbo, departed on 16 August 2010 at the age of 75 years, after a long disease. Born in Rome in 1935, Cabibbo graduated in physics from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1958 and then worked as a researcher at the INFN until 1962. After spending some time at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California and at Harvard University, he returned to Italy to work at the University of Aquila in 1965. In 1966 he moved back to "La Sapienza" where he worked as professor of elementary particles physic. He thought also at Princeton, Paris, Chicago and New York. He was president of the INFN from 1983 to 1992; from 1993 to 1998 he was president of ENEA and since 1993 until his death he has been president of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. He was one of the most Italian famous physicist on the world for his contribution to the knowledge of elementary particles. The Cabibbo research in fact allowed the study of one of the four fundamental interaction of the nature: the weak interaction. Cabibbo's work was extended by Makoto Kobayashi and Toshihide Maskawa to the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa matrix. In 2008, Kobayashi and Maskawa shared one half of the Nobel Prize in Physics for their work. Some physicists had bitter feelings that the Nobel Prize committee failed to reward Cabibbo for his part.
International Review of Aerospace Engineering (IREASE) February 23th, 2010 - Praise Worthy Prize is pleased and honoured to inform the readers of the successful achievements of Prof. Rathakrishnan, Editor-in-Chief of IREASE: a limit called “Rathakrishnan Limit" which explains the maximum limit to which noise in jets could be reduced, has been named in his respect, because of his precious research on jet control. Praise Worthy Prize would like to congratulate with him for this important step in his research and wish him a career full of other brilliant scientific goals.
